WAPOR Webinar in September
Youth in Action: Shaping the Future of Society and Politics
Dear WAPOR Members, Subscribers, and Friends,
WAPOR is pleased to invite you to our September webinar, “Youth in Action: Shaping the Future of Society and Politics,” taking place on September 22 at 13:00 UTC.
REGISTER TO ATTEND THE WEBINAR
Across the world, young people have been at the forefront of some of the most significant social and political developments of our time. From climate action to human rights, youth-led movements have mobilized millions, influenced public debate, and pushed institutions to respond. In a rapidly changing world, young people are not simply witnessing history — they are actively shaping it. The webinar will bring together three distinguished speakers to discuss the role of younger generations in contemporary politics and society.
Alejandro Moreno is Professor of Political Science at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Director of Public Opinion Polling at El Financiero, Global Fellow at the Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute, Past President of WAPOR, and former Vice-President of the World Values Survey Association. His research focuses on public opinion, electoral behavior, political culture, comparative politics, and survey research methodology.
Sebastián Rivera is Assistant Professor in the School of Government and Public Administration at Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile. His research focuses on political communication, public opinion, political behavior, and election campaigns, with work published in leading journals including Political Communication, Research & Politics, The International Journal of Press/Politics, and Social Media + Society.
Rehman Hassan is a human rights and health equity advocate whose work has included advising UN agencies, U.S. government agencies, and state and local governments. His research and policy work spans human rights, health equity, artificial intelligence, and international development, including contributions to USAID’s AI in Global Development Playbook and Global AI Research Agenda.
We warmly invite WAPOR members, colleagues, students, and everyone interested in public opinion, youth engagement, political participation, and social change to join us for this timely discussion.
We look forward to welcoming you on September 22.
Sincerely,
WAPOR Secretariat
